Cream Peas In A Pod

I wanted something special to serve peas in for the holidays. I decided to make my own holders for the peas, thus the name, pea pod! These are fun and easy to do. They also make a good impression on guest, especially the little ones! Read more !
Ingredients:
1 package flaky biscuits(10 count)
1/2 cup shredded cheddar
1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
2 cans tiny or petite green peas
4 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
2/3 stick plus 2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup heavy cream or half and half
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons flour
salt and pepper to taste
green onions, thinly sliced (green part only)*optional
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375.
2. spray muffin tin with baking spray.
3. Form 1 biscuit in bottom of each muffin cup and press firmly on bottom and up sides.
4. Melt 2 tablespoon butter in microwave safe bowl for 20 seconds or until melted.
5. Stir in garlic, parsley, cracked pepper and Italian seasoning.
6. Brush dough of each muffin with butter mixture.
7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
8. Saute onion in 2/3 stick butter until tender.
9. Add peas and bacon and cook on med. low heat for 2 to 3 minutes..
10. Whisk together the flour and cream.
11. Stir flour mixture into peas.
12. Lower heat to low/medium, cover and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
13. Stir in cheese.
14. Season peas with salt and pepper to taste.
15. Remove muffins from oven and let cool for a few minutes.
16. Gently remove cups from muffing tin and place on serving plate or platter.
17. Divide peas evenly and spoon into cups.
18. Place on serving platter.
19. Place 2 slices of the green onion on top of each, in a criss cross pattern.
