Cream Cheese Corn from Mom's

This is one of our favorite side dishes that I got from a cook book from a sweet bar owner that we all called Mom. It's super easy and tastey even if you don't like cream cheese (which my husband doesn't).
Ingredients:
2 (15 ounce) cans whole kernel corn
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened, cubed
1/3 of an onion, chopped, carmalized
1 teaspoon ground pepper
Directions:
1. Cook cans of corn just to a boil, drain, set aside.
2. Place cream cheese in warm pot and stir til melted, be careful not to burn the cream cheese.
3. Add corn, making sure corn is coated well and add onions and pepper to taste.
4. Serve.
