This is a really easy and different way to make an apple pie without all the fuss of rolling out a pie dough. I know most people would just buy a ready-crust, but this is a more homemade tasting dessert and is great for pot-lucks, gifting or just something different for dessert. Read more . Ingredients:
crust
1 c. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. water
2/3 c. butter
1 egg
filling
1 can (1 lb. 5 oz.) apple pie filling
1 fresh lemon
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375.
2. Blend crust ingredients, blend on medium for 2 minutes.
3. Spread over the bottom and on sides of pie pan.
4. Spoon apple filling carefully into the center of the batter. DO NOT STIR.
5. Squeeze the lemon juice liberally over the mixture. You don't have to use it all-just squeeze it over the mixture really well.
6. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
7. Bake in the oven for 40-50 minutes.
8. Let cool completely before serving, or serve warm.
9. *This all bakes together to form a crust, filling and topping. *
