Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients:
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
12-oz bag fresh or frozen cranberries (3 cups)
1/2 teaspoon freshly grated orange zest
Directions:
1. Bring water and sugar to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Add cranberries and simmer, stirring occasionally, until berries just pop, 10 to 12 minutes. Stir in zest, then cool.
2. Cooks' note: ยท Cranberry sauce may be made 3 days ahead and chilled, covered.
