Cranberry-carmelized Onion Cheese Spread

These are a bit bizarre ingredients but I just loved it. It is very pretty too!!!!
Ingredients:
8 ounces softened cream cheese
4 ounces crumbled blue cheese, room temp
1 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese, room temp
2 tsp vegetable oil
2 medium sweet onions, quartered then thin sliced
2 cups fresh cranberries
1/2 cup sugar + 2 tsp for onions
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
Directions:
1. Combine cream cheese and blue cheese beat with electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
2. Add cheddar and beat until well blended .
3. Make one large ball or two small balls and refigerate for at least one hour.
4. Heat oil in large skillet .
5. Add onions cook and stir for 2-4 min or until tender.
6. Reduce heat to medium- low and stir in 1 tsp sugar.
7. Cook for 10-12 min or until onions are soft and golden.
8. Remove onions from skillet.
9. Combine cranberries, water and sugar in skillet.
10. Cook over medium heat about 5 minutes or until cranberries pop and mixture thickens.
11. Stir in vinegar and onions.
12. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
13. To serve.... Bring cheese balls to room temperature.
14. Spoon cranberry mixture over cheese and sprinkle with walnuts.
15. I used butter crackers and spread it thick. It tastes soooo good.
16. Enjoy!
