Cranberry Bourbon Sorbet, the Trellis, Williamsburg

This interesting recipe would be great for Thanksgiving or Christmas. I have changed it slightly.
Ingredients:
3 cups water
2 cups sugar
4 tablespoons bourbon
1 lb cranberries
Directions:
1. In a saucepan bring the water and sugar up to a boil.
2. Allow this to simmer for 5 minutes.
3. Add the cranberries and the bourbon and simmer until the berries pop open.
4. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
5. When cool, press the mixture through a fine sieve.
6. Refrigerate until cold, then freeze.
