Here is a very simple, no-fuss dip for the holidays. Its a three-ingredient wonder that anyone can put together in a matter of a minute. The cranberries over the block of cream cheese is not only lovely in color, elegant on the table but tastes good, too! Read more ! I serve this with water crackers or any unsalted cracker during any holiday gathering. This is also a nice snack in the middle of the night but don't tell my husband. Shhh..
Ingredients:
1 bar of cream cheese
1 can of whole cranberry sauce
1 cup of whole walnuts
Directions:
1. Remove the wrapper from your cream cheese and place on a small bowl or on a small serving platter.
2. While still in the can, stir the cranberry sauce well.
3. Pour the sauce directly over the cream cheese and serve! Ta daaa!
4. *I know that you can mix the berries in with the cheese and make a pinkish looking dip but the berries laying over the white cream cheese is really lovely and makes a great presentation on the table. You can use my homemade cheese recipe or even drain a large container of plain yogurt for a few hours and use the yogurt instead of the cheese. Also, this is great with sliced apples and celery!
5. For you Moms out there who have kids who wouldn't touch a cranberry unless it was holding a new X-box system, know that kids love dips! They just might like this one, game or no game!
6. *********For a nice and super easy tart recipe, just fill small tart shells with cream cheese, top with the cranberry sauce and place one walnut half on top. **********Good stuff here!
