This is simple and delicious. It can be used as a veggie/chip dip, or as a salad dressing. These are all ingredients that most of us have on hand all the time, and you will save money making your own dressing rather than buying it. You can keep the prepared ranch in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week, but it usually does not last that long in our house!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup good quality mayonnaise
3/4 cup sour cream
1 1/2 teaspoons granulated onion
3/4 teaspoon granulated garlic
3/4 teaspoon johnny's season salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried dill
1 teaspoon dried dry buttermilk
1 1/2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
1/2-3/4 teaspoon granulated sugar
1/2-3/4 cup buttermilk (use only if you want to make salad dressing)
Directions:
1. Instructions for Dip; Combine mayo, sour cream, onion, garlic, herbs, season salt and pepper in a medium mixing bowl and whisk together. Add buttermilk powder, lemon juice and sugar, mixing well with the whisk. Cover and chill for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
2. Instructions for Dressing; Same as above, whisking in the liquid buttermilk at the end until dressing reaches desired consistency. Cover and chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
