The name is straight to the point....LOL. My grandmother has been making these cookies all my life. We have always just called them cookies. The rice krispies in these really give the cookies some crunch. The recipe I got from G'ma said on the bottom that you could add chocolate chips but I've never done that. If you try that you will have to let me know how that tastes.
Ingredients:
1 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups oatmeal
2 cups rice krispies
1/4 cup nuts, chopped
1/4 cup coconut
Directions:
1. Cream margarine, sugar and brown sugar.
2. Add eggs and vanilla.
3. Beat and add flour, soda, baking powder and salt.
4. Mix well.
5. Blend in remaining ingredients and roll dough into size of walnuts.
6. Bake for 12 minutes at 350.
