Coconut Cream Pie

This pie is a Christmas tradition in my family. Everyone loves it and it turns out perfect everytime.
Ingredients:
2/3 cp sugar
1/4 cp cornstarch
3 cp milk
4 egg yolks, slightly beaten
2 tbls. softened butter
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cp sweetened flaked coconut
1 cp. cool whip
Directions:
1. Mix sugar and cornstarch in a sauce pan over med heat.
2. Gradually stir in milk.
3. Stir constantly until it thickens and boils.
4. Boil and stir 1 minute.
5. Stir atleast half of hot mixture slowly into yolks then add the mix back into the pan.
6. Boil and stir constantly 1 minute.
7. Remove from heat and stir in butter, vanilla and 3/4 cp coconut.
8. Pour into prepared pie shell.
9. Wrap with plastic wrap and refrigerate over night.
10. Before serving garnish with cool whip and toasted coconut.
