Low calorie sweet desert
Ingredients:
4 egg whites
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. sweetened coconut
1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees
2. Cover 2 large cookie sheets with foil. Spray with non-stick vegetable spray.
3. In large bowl, beat egg whites and cream of tartar at high speed until foamy. Beat in sugar, one tablespoon at a time, until stiff, glossy peaks form, setting aside 1/3 cup coconut.
4. In small bowl, combine remaining coconut and cocoa powder. Gently but thoroughly fold into egg whites.
5. Drop by teaspoon onto cookie sheets. Sprinkle with remaining coconut.
6. Bake 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 250 degrees.
7. Bake 35 minutes longer until cookies are firm and dry to touch.
