Cocoa Syrup (Pre 1940)

This recipe included in my Grandma's Wartime Edition Cookbook.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup cocoa
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
1. Cook cocoa and water together, until smooth and thick.
2. Add sugar and salt and cook a few more minutes longer.
3. Add butter and vanilla.
4. pour into cantainer.
5. Keep In refrig.
