I've been using this recipe for a lot of years and am ALWAYS asked for the recipe. These are a great addition to any buffet or pot luck. The flavor is amazing!
Ingredients:
meatballs
1 /12 lbs of hamburg
1 1/2 c plain breadcrumbs
3 t dry minced onion
6 drops tabasco
3 eggs
1 1/2 1 t pepper
sauce
1 1/2 c ketchup
1 c water
1/2 c vinegar
4 t brown sugar
2 t dry minced onion
4 t worcestershire
3 t salt
2 t dry mustard
1 t pepper
6 drops tabasco
Directions:
1. Shape hamburg mix into 1 to 1 1/2 meatballs.
2. Place on cookie shets and bake at 375 for 15 mins.
3. Drain in colander lined with paper towels
4. (Meatballs may be frozen when cooled if you like)
5. Mix all sauce ingredients, combine meatballs and sauce in a small slow cooker on high a few hours, stirring gently until sauce thickens
6. If doubling for a larger gathering use a 5 1/2 qt slow cooker
7. Sauce may be made ahead and refrigerated for later for up to 4 - 5 days
