My dad would make this on Saturday mornings for my mom brother and I , it was a great start to our weekends! Either with biscuts or on toast or bread it's a great dish!!
Ingredients:
1 tbl spoon of shortning
1lbs of sausage (bob evans, jimmy dean etc)
2c milk
3 tbl corn starch
salt and pepper to taste
3 slices of american cheese
Directions:
1. In a skillet on medium heat add your shortning, sausage , salt and pepper.
2. Then brown the sausage until its completely cooked through.
3. In a coffee cup add 1 cup of the milk and the corn starch and stir until its completely mixed , then pour over sausage in the skillet.
4. stir mixture and once it starts to thicken then add the last cup of milk
5. and stir often so that it doesnt stick. When it reaches desired thickness then you will add the cheese all the while stirring so that it doesn't stick and burn. Turn it down to low and let simmer, when the cheese is melted then its ready to eat!
