Classic vanilla ice-cream

Ice-cream is good for winter or summer. A processor or ice-cream machine can also be used.
Ingredients:
1 cup milk
1 cup cream
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
2 egg yolks (beaten together)
2 egg whites (beaten together)
1/2 cup caster sugar
Directions:
1. Bring milk and cream to boiling point in saucepan.
2. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
3. Whisk eggs and sugar together with a little milk.
4. Place bowl over saucepan of simmering water.
5. Whisk in milk until mixture thickens slightly.
6. Pour into a metal tray and semi freeze.
7. Beat well in a bowl (will make a smoother result).
8. Put back into freezer over night.
