City Oyster Potato Lasagna - Potato/Sweet Potato Gratin

The recipe called for gorganzola, I substituted blue cheese.
Ingredients:
2 lbs potatoes
10 ounces sweet potatoes
5 teaspoons garlic, minced
1 cup blue cheese, crumbled
3/4 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
2 1/2 cups heavy cream
salt
pepper
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Peel and slice all potatoes to the width of a nickel (2 mm slicing disc makes quick work of it).
3. Toss slices with garlic in a large bowl, easiest by hand.
4. Oil a 9x9 baking dish or use silicone.
5. Layer potatoes in 3 layers - putting 1/3 of the cheese on each layer.
6. Heat cream over medium heat and add salt and pepper. Pour over casserole.
7. Gently press to be sure all is covered.
8. Bake 1 hour or until potatoes are tender.
9. Let sit 10 minutes before cutting and serving.
