If you eat cinnamon toast regularly, go ahead and mix a batch of calorie-free sweetener and cinnamon and keep it on hand to sprinkle on toast as well as oatmeal or other whole-grain hot cereals.
Ingredients:
2 teaspoons light butter
1 (1-ounce) slice reduced-carb whole wheat bread (such as arnold)
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions:
1. Preheat broiler.
2. Spread butter over bread. Sprinkle with sweetener and cinnamon. Broil 2 to 3 minutes or until bread is lightly toasted.
3. Note: The bread we analyzed for in this recipe has 9 grams of carbohydrate and 3 grams of fiber per slice.
