Cinnamon Rum Syrup

This is a great syrup to pour over fruit pancakes or ice cream. Gives it a little kick. Quick and easy and great to give as a gift. From the book Small Batch Preserving .
Ingredients:
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon dark rum
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Directions:
1. Combine sugar, water and cinnamon in a small saucepan.
2. Bring to a boil over high heat and boil until sugar is dissolved.
3. Remove from heat; stir in rum and lemon.
4. Pour syrup into a clean jar with a tight-fitting lid and store in the refrigerator.
