Cinnamon Bun Oatmeal

Oatmeal with the taste of Cinnabon! And a lot lighter in calories (a classic Cinnabon weighs in at a whopping 730 calories!).
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon water
1/2 teaspoon butter
1 pinch cinnamon
1 pinch salt
2 tablespoons coarsely chopped walnuts or 2 tablespoons coarsely chopped pecans
1 ounce low-fat cream cheese or 1 ounce neufchatel cheese, at room temperature
1 tablespoon milk
1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1/4 cup steel cut oats
1/2 medium banana, thinly sliced
3/4 cup water
1 dash salt
1 dash cinnamon
Directions:
1. In a small saucepan, heat the brown sugar, water, butter, salt and cinnamon over medium-high until bubbly. Add the nuts and stir to coat. Cook 3-5 minutes until very thick and syrupy, and the nuts are well-coated. Spread on baker's parchment in a single layer and allow to cool to room temperature.
2. Meanwhile, whisk together the frosting ingredients. Cover and set aside until ready to use (refrigerate if not using for more than an hour).
3. In a small saucepan, combine all oatmeal ingredients. Bring to a simmer then cook over medium-low heat, whisking frequently, until desired consistency is achieved, about 12 minutes.
4. Transfer oatmeal to a serving bowl. Top with frosting, then with nuts. Enjoy!
