This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Marcus Estate in Greenville, Texas in 1994.
Ingredients:
3 ounces lemon gelatin
2 cups hot cider
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 cup chopped red apples
1/2 cup broken walnuts
1/2 cup sliced pitted dates
1 tablespoon grated orange rind
8 lettuce leaves
Directions:
1. Dissolve gelatin in hot cider then add lemon juice and chill until partially set.
2. Fold in apples, walnuts, dates and orange rind then turn into 1 quart mold.
3. Chill until firm then serve on lettuce leaves.
