Chunky Cherry Almond Drops

Cherries, almonds, and coconut add a twist to old fashioned oatmeal cookies.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup white sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon coconut extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup dried cherries, chopped
1 cup flaked coconut
1 cup slivered almonds
Directions:
1. preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. beat together butter, shortening, and sugars until fluffy.
3. beat in eggs, vanilla, and coconut extract.
4. in a separate bowl combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
5. mix dry ingredients into wet.
6. blend in cherries, coconut, and almonds.
7. drop rounded teaspoons of batter onto un-greased cookie sheet.
8. bake 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
