Chocolate Toffee Oaties

Toffee oatmeal cookie squares topped with semisweet chocolate and chopped walnuts. From the Cook's Encyclopedia .
Ingredients:
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 3/4 cups quick-cooking oatmeal
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup dark corn syrup
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 pinch salt
1/4 cup semisweet chocolate, grated
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F, grease a 15 x 10 inch baking pan.
2. Mix together butter, oats, sugar, corn syrup, vanilla and salt.
3. Press into prepared pan and bake 15 to 18 minutes until the mixture is brown and bubbly.
4. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle on the chocolate, set aside for 10 minutes, then spread the chocolate over the base.
5. Sprinkle on nuts, cool on a wire rack, then cut into squares.
