Chocolate Tea Bread

This makes 1 delicous loaf of moist bread that is wonderful for breakfast.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup applesauce
1/3 cup shortening
2 large eggs
1/3 cup water
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup baking cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/3 cup chopped nuts, optional and of choice
glaze
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1-2 tablespoons milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
pinch of salt
Directions:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine applesauce, shortening, eggs, water and sugar.
2. Beat on low speed for 30 seconds.
3. In a separate bowl, combine dry ingredients.
4. Gradually add to applesauce mixture.
5. Beat on low for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
6. Switch to high and beat for 2-1/2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
7. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts.
8. Pour into a greased and floured 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.
9. Bake at 350° for 60-70 minutes or until cake test comes out done.
10. Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool. completely.
11. In a bowl, combine glaze ingredients until mixed well.
12. Drizzle over warm bread.
