A rich chocolately cookies that crackles when cooked so that with it's powdered sugar cooking it looks like a snowflake. My Mom made these when I was a child. Now my children love them as well. The dough is very soft, and watch them carefully..they tend to burn fast.

1/4 cup butter
2 eggs
1 cup nuts, finely chopped
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate squares
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
powdered sugar
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Sift flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
3. In a small saucepan melt butter and chocolate over low heat, stirring often.
4. Add sugar and transfer to a mixing bowl.
5. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
6. Add vanilla.
7. Add flour mixture and nuts blending well.
8. Roll into small balls, then rolls the balls into the powdered sugar, covering all sides well.
