Beautiful and decadently, chocolate-y rich. A perfect company dessert from an old issue of the Family Circle magazine. Cooling time not included in preparation time.
Ingredients:
1 pie crust (either store bought or your own recipe)
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup chocolate syrup (hershey's, chocolate syrup or your own recipe)
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup pecan halves
1/2 cup whipping cream, whipped
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
2. Place crust into 9 fluted tart pan with removable bottom.
3. Beat eggs slightly in bowl; stir in sugars, chocolate syrup, milk, butter and cornstarch.
4. Pour into prepared tart shell and arrange pecan halves decoratively on the top.
5. Bake in preheated oven for ten minutes; lower heat to 325F and continue baking for 35 minutes or until the center is almost set but still soft (take care not to over bake).
6. Cool on wire rack.
7. Remove tart from pan; decorate with whipped cream rosettes.
