Oh this is so good and creamy so sinfully delish so fatting but HEY why not enjoy life a little. Just thought that I would share this recipe with you. This was the 2008 grand prize winner dessert of this year from Betty Crocker. Read more . Hope you will enjoy this recipe as much as we have. I made these bars for our ladies luncheon at church last week they were gone within a matter of minutes.
Ingredients:
cookie base
1 pouch (1 lb. 1.5-oz.) betty crocker double chocolate chunk cookie mix
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 tbsp. cold strong brewed coffee
1 egg
filling
1 pkg. (8-oz.) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1 container (8-oz.) frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 bag (9- oz.) miniature chocolate-covered peanut butter cup candies, chopped
topping
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup milk
2 tbsp. sugar
3 oz. bittersweet baking chocolate, melted
1 cup dry-roasted peanuts
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350*F.
2. In a large bowl stir cookie base ingredients until soft dough forms.
3. Spread dough in bottom of an ungreased 13x9 pan.
4. Bake 12-15 minutes or until just set.
5. Cool completely about 30 minuted.
6. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and 1/4 cup sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth.
7. Fold in whipped topping and candies.
8. Spread over cooled cookie base.
9. In a small bowl microwaveable bowl, beat peanut butter, milk and 2 Tbsp. sugar with a wire whisk until smooth.
10. Microwave uncovered on HIGH 30 to 60 seconds, to thin for drizzling.
11. Drizzle mixture over filling.
12. Drizzle with melted chocolate.
13. Sprinkle with peanuts.
14. Refrigerate about 2 hours or until set.
15. For bars cut into 6 rows by 4 rows.
16. Store covered in refrigerator.
