I made these for Christmas trays using the candy cane kisses. I think they will be great for Valentine's day with the cherry filled kisses, St. Patty's Day with mint kisses - the possibilities are endless! If you like chocolate, you will LOVE these.
Ingredients:
1 3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup cocoa powder
3/4 cup light brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 bag hershey's kisses - flavor of your choice
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. In medium sized bowl, ream butter and sugars until well combined and light in color.
3. Add the egg and vanilla until well incorporated. Be sure to scrape the sides and bottom of bowl.
4. In another bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cocoa powder. Add to butter mixture slowly, on medium speed. Be careful not to overmix.
5. Form dough into 1 balls.
6. Bake for about 10-12 minutes.
7. Let cool for a few minutes before transfering to a wire rack.
8. Once cookies are cooled but still slightly warm to the touch, lightly press an unwrapped kiss into the center. makes about 31/2 dozen cookies.
