Chocolate Italian Cream Cake

This is a great recipe for company...Everyone loves Italian Cream but a chocolate one is devine.....I got this recipe out of Tea Time....
Ingredients:
1/2 cup stick butter
1/2 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
5 eggs (separated)
2 cups cake flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup cocoa
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup coconut (topping)
1/2 cup chopped pecans (topping)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cream together butter, shortening, and sugar.
3. Add egg yolks one at a time.
4. Mix in flour, baking soda, cocoa, buttermilk, sour cream and vanilla extract.
5. Mix together for 2 minutes or until batter is smooth.
6. In a separate bowl, whisk egg whites, and fold into cake batter.
7. Spray three 9 inch pans; divide batter into three equal amounts and fill cake pans.
8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.
