This recipe came from Giada De Laurentis on Everyday Italian . You can cut it into squares like she does or into wedges like a pie. Either way its delicious.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoon all purpose flour
3 eggs-beaten
1 1/2 cups peeled,chopped,and toasted hazelnuts(filberts)
1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
1 cup corn syrup
2 tablespoons butter-melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 store bought frozen pie crust-thawed
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
2. In large bowl,mix together sugar and flour.
3. Add eggs,chocolate chips,hazelnuts,corn syrup,vanilla,butter and salt. Stir well.
4. Pour into pie crust.
5. Bake 1 hour.
6. Cool 30 minutes before serving.

8. Where I live hazelnuts/filberts are extremely hard to find and/or very expensive so I substitute macadamia nuts,cashews,peanuts,or pecans.
