These Fudgies are little bites of chocolate fudge and chocolate chips that just melt in your mouth! They are great for the winter holidays and make wonderful gifts, as well. They are also very easy to make. You'll get five dozen candies out of this recipe so be ready to share a few with your fellow Chocoholics out there.
Ingredients:
2 cups (12 oz. pkg.) milk chocolate chips * see note below
1 cup (6 oz. pkg.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup butter
1, 14 oz. can of condensed milk (not evaporated milk!)
1/4 tsp of salt
2 cups coarsely chopped pecans or 2 cups of chopped walnuts
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
pecan halves /walnut halves
*note: using top quality chocolate chips will make a better candy. taste the chips. if they don't melt well in your mouth and are flavorless and sandy in texture, do not use them in this recipe.
Directions:
1. Melt the chocolate chips, butter, condensed milk and salt in a glass bowl in your microwave on High for 2 minutes.
2. Take the bowl out and stir well until the mixture is creamy and well-blended.
3. Stir in chopped nuts and vanilla.
4. DROP by teaspoonfuls onto wax paper, Non-stick aluminum foil or a silicone mat.
5. Top with pecan or walnut halves.
6. Chill in your refrigerator until firm or let sit overnight out on your counter if your kitchen temperature is cool.
7. I have to give credit to Eagle Brand Condensed Milk for their original recipe. The picture above is also theirs! Yummy, eh?
