This is a recipe from the Irondale Cafe in Irondale, Alabama, the cafe that the Whistle Stop Cafe in the movie Fried Green Tomatoes is based on. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups sugar |
3 tablespoons cocoa |
1/2 cup butter, melted |
3 eggs |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 (8 inch) unbaked pie shells |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Combine sugar and cocoa; add butter, eggs, and vanilla.
3. Mix well and pour into pie shell.
4. Bake for 35 minutes.
5. Let cool for 10 minutes.
6. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
