Serve fresh fruit and cut-up angel food cake as dippers for this thick, puddinglike fondue. If you don't have a fondue pot, warm a small bowl for each person. Spoon fondue into bowls, and serve immediately.
Ingredients:
2 cups fat-free milk
1/2 cup powdered sugar, sifted
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons dark corn syrup
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
5 ounces semisweet chocolate (about 1 cup), chopped
Directions:
1. Bring first 5 ingredients to a simmer in a large saucepan over medium heat; cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to medium-low; cook 2 minutes or until mixture is smooth, stirring constantly.
2. Place chocolate in a medium bowl. Pour milk mixture over chocolate; stir until smooth. Transfer chocolate mixture to a fondue pot. Keep warm over a low flame.
3. Young Chefs can:
4. Help sift powdered sugar
5. Add measured sugar to saucepan
6. Older Chefs can:
7. Measure milk, and add to saucepan
8. Stir chocolate mixture until smooth
