My mother got this recipe from a restaurant she worked at in Springfield, Vermont. She now makes it at her grandsons' request!
Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine
1/4 cup cornstarch
3/4 cup sugar
2 1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup cocoa
4 egg yolks
1 dash salt
baked pie shell
Directions:
1. Melt the butter in a saucepan.
2. Whisk in the cornstarch.
3. Add the remaining ingredients and heat on low until thickened.
4. Pour into the pie shell.
5. Cool to room temperature or refrigerate before serving.
