Great during the holidays. My best friend gave me this one holiday time. It is her mother's recipe. If you like coconut, you'll like this. It reminds you of Mounds bars.
Ingredients:
1 can (14-15 oz. ) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)
1 stick butter or good quality margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1 lbs boxes confectioners sugar
15 - 16 oz. flaked coconut
2 cups chopped pecans
12 oz. package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 block gulf paraffin wax
Directions:
1. Mix milk, butter and vanilla.
2. Add confectioners sugar.
3. Then add pecans and coconut. Mix well. (It will be necessary to mix with washed hands as mixture maybe quite stiff)
4. Chill 15 minutes.
5. Form into balls the size of walnuts and insert a tooth pick in center of each ball.
6. Chill again.
7. Melt chocolate chips and paraffin wax in top of double boiler.
8. Remove from heat.
9. Dip each candy ball in chocolate.
10. Remove quickly and place on wax paper.
11. Use a spoon dipped in chocolate to smooth over hole left from toothpick.
12. Refrigerate candy balls.
13. Enjoy!
