Chocolate Chip Cake

This is the quickest, easiest, super rich cake in the world . . . You don't even have to frost it, because there's chocolate chips baked right on top!
Ingredients:
1 (18 1/4 ounce) duncan hines chocolate cake mix (not pudding in the mix)
1 (3 1/2 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
2 cups cold milk
1 egg
1 (12 ounce) bag chocolate chips
chopped nuts (optional)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F Grease and flour a 9x13 pan.
2. Mix pudding with the 2 cups of milk. Let stand until pudding starts to thicken.
3. Add dry cake mix and 1 egg. Beat till blended. (batter will be thick).
4. Pour batter into prepared pan and top with the chocolate chips and nuts. Spread out evenly over batter.
5. Bake about 40 minutes, or till toothpick inserted into cake comes out almost clean.
