Chocolate Baked Alaska Peanut Smores

This is an incredible dessert that is very impressive and very refreshing on a hot summer day. Easy to make but loaded with decadent flavors. enjoy
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
6 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
2 tablespoons plus 1/3 granulated sugar divided
1-1/2 pints chocolate ice cream softened slightly
1/2 cup dry roasted peanuts chopped
2 large egg whites
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Stir together crumbs, butter and 2 tablespoons sugar and reserve 1/4 of mixture.
3. Press remaining mixture onto bottom of flameproof square baking pan and bake 12 minutes.
4. Cool in pan on a wire rack.
5. Stir together ice cream and peanuts and spread on crust.
6. Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture evenly on top and press lightly.
7. Freeze ice cream mixture covered with foil overnight.
8. Preheat broiler then combine egg whites and remaining sugar and set over pan of hot water.
9. Stir mixture just until sugar is dissolved.
10. Remove bowl from heat and with electric mixer beat meringue until it holds stiff glossy peaks.
11. Spread meringue over ice cream and broil under preheated broiler 4 from heat for 30 seconds.
12. Freeze dessert uncovered 30 minutes to harden meringue or covered overnight.
13. Cut dessert into 4 squares and halve each square diagonally into triangles.
