Chipotle-black Bean Chili

From Cooking Light's Soups and Stews Cookbook. This vegetarian chili recipe is moderately spicy. The chipotle chiles give it a slightly smoky flavor.
Ingredients:
1 t. olive oil
1 c. finely chopped onions
6 cloves garlic, minced
2 t. chili powder
1 t. minced drained canned chipotle chiles in adobo sauce
1/4 t. pepper
1/8 t. salt
2 15 oz. cans black beans, drained
2 14.5 oz. cans no salt added whole tomatoes, undrained and chopped
1 4.5 oz can chopped green chiles, drained
cilantro sprigs, optional
Directions:
1. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium high heat.
2. Add onion and garlic; saute 3 minutes or until tender.
3. Add chili powder and next 6 ingredients; bring to a boil.
4. Reduce heat; simmer 15 minutes.
5. Ladle chili into individual bowls; garnish with ciantro if desired.
