Ingredients:
4 eggs,beaten
1-1/2 cup bread crumbs(2 slices)
1(8oz) water chestnuts,drained and finely chopped
1(8oz) bamboo shoots,drained and finely chopped
1-1/2 cups green onions with tops,finely chopped
3 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon crystallized ginger,finely chopped
1 teaspoon salt
3 pounds lean ground pork shoulder
cornstarch
for the sweet and sour sauce
2 cups orange juice
1-1/2 cups beef broth
1 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup soy sauce
2/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons ,finely chopped crystallized ginger.
bring all sauce mixture to boil,combine 1/3 cup cornstarch and 1 cup of water ,stir into sauce and cook ,stirring until thickened and bubbly.
Directions:
1. For Chinese Meat Balls:
2. In bowl combine egg,bread crumbs,water chestnuts,bamboo shoots,green onion,soy sauce,ginger,and salt.
3. Mix well.
4. Add pork and mix well.
5. Chill for 1 hour.
6. Shape into 1 balls.roll in cornstarch.
7. Cook a few at a time in a deep hot oil(375 degrees) for about 2 minutes or until browned.
8. Serve warm in Sweet and Sour Sauce.
