The candied bacon gives these tarts a marvelous taste. Ingredients:
8 bacon strips |
11/2tsp brown sugar |
1/4tsp cinnamon |
3/4c finely chopped cooked chicken breast |
1/3c pear nectar |
1/4c finely chopped dried pears |
3tbs apricot preserves |
2tsp butter |
1/4tsp salt |
1/4tsp pepper |
2 pkgs(1.9oz ea) frozen miniature phyllo tart shells |
1/3c crumbled gorgonzola cheese |
Directions:
1. Place bacon in a jelly roll pan;broil 4 from the heat for 4-6 mins on each side or till crisp. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon;sprinkle ocer bacon. Broil 1 min. longer or till bacon is glazed and bubbly. Drain on paper towels. Cool slightly and crumbble. 2. In small skillet,combine chicken,pear nectar,pears,preserves,butter,salt and pepper. Bring to a boil;cook,stirring occasionally,for 3-4 mins or till thickened. Spoon about 1 teaspoonful of filling into each tart shell;place tarts on baking sheet.. Sprinkle with bacon and cheese. 3. Bake at 350 for 5 to 7 mins. or till heated through. |
