I used three different recipes to come up with this one. good for cold nights and when your not feeling so well. or when you just want a hearty soup.
Ingredients:
1 fryer the bigger the better but at least 3 pounds.
enough water to cover the chicken.
1 or 2 cans of chicken broth depends on how much chicken flavor you want.
2 to 3 palmfuls of chicken bouillon granules.
1 tbsp of montreal seasoning.
1 tbsp of cajun seasoning.
1 palmful of red pepper flakes or to taste.
1 tbsp of onion powder.
1 large onion diced.
1 tbsp freshly ground black pepper or more to taste.
6 stalks of celery chopped.
1 medium head of cabbage chopped.
2 heaping tbsps of minced garlic or to taste.
5 potatoes chopped.
1/4 cup chopped parsley.
6 carrots peeled and cut into coins.
2 packages of reames or homemade egg noodles.
Directions:
1. Begin with a large enough pot to hold the whole chicken and enough water to cover the chicken.
2. Season water with all the spices, bring water to a boil
3. Boil the chicken for about 1 hour or until the legs will pull off easily.
4. While the chicken is cooking cut the celery, potatoes, onion, parsley, cabbage and carrots putting them in another bowl covered with cold water.
5. After the chicken is cooked use tongs to get it from the boiling water then set it aside to cool, then debone it.
6. With the water still boiling add the bowl of chopped vegetables (drained) CAREFULLY!!!.
7. After the chicken has been deboned cut it into bite size chunks then add to the vegetables then add the noodles and continue to boil per package directions until the noodles are done.
8. Get a big bowl fill it full and enjoy!!!!
