Chicken Giblets and Livers in Sauce a La Chine

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 star anise (purchase in asian market)
  • 2 tbsp sherry wine

Directions:

  1. Mix water, soy sauce, sugar, star aniseeds and sherry in a pot, cover; bring mixture to boil.
  2. Add giblets and livers; bring to boil again; cover and simmer 10 minutes.
  3. Remove livers from sauce; allow giblets to continue cooking for 1 1/2 hours.
  4. Remove giblets from sauce.
  5. Slice giblets and livers.
  6. Serve cold.
