Chicken Corn Chowder

This is a delicious easy corn chowder recipe. It is filling creamy comfort food.. I like to serve it with warmed french bread
Ingredients:
6 slices bacon
1/2 c onions, chopped
2 c diced peeled yukon gold potatoes
1 small finely minced red pepper
3 large ears of fresh corn, kernels removed from cobs and cobs set aside
1 c water
1 can chicken broth
1 c cooked cubed chicken breast
1 16 oz can cream style corn
1/2 c half and half
1/2 tsp cumin
1tsp sugar
1 tsp seasoning salt (janes crazy mixed up salt)
1/4 tsp pepper
Directions:
1. Break corn cobs into smaller pieces and put in a 3 qt dutch oven with water and chicken broth.
2. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 45 minutes
3. Drain reserving liquid
4. In a skillet brown bacon until crisp, remove and reserve
5. Add onions, red pepper and potatoes to drippings and saute for 5 minutes then drain well
6. Return liquid to dutch oven, add fresh corn, cream style corn , chicken, cumin, sugar, seasoning salt and pepper
7. Bring to a boil cover and simmer for 25 minutes
8. Remove cover add half and half and bacon crumbled, simmer 5 minutes and serve
