Cherry Dumplings

Very impressive dessert-yum good.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
milk
1 egg (beaten)
2 cups biscuit mix
Directions:
1. Stir together water, lemon juice, cinnamon and cloves.
2. Stir in pie filling and bring to a boil in a 10 inch skillet.
3. Add enough milk to the egg to make 1/2 cup.
4. Stir into the biscuit mix to make a soft dough.
5. Drop dough by tablespoons on top of the boiling fruit.
6. Simmer on low heat about 10 minutes more.
7. Serve warm (scoop fruit over top dumplings in a bowl). Serve with cream if desired.
