Clafouti ( clafoutis ) is a custard-like baked French dessert that is typically made by baking fresh fruit (traditionally cherries) plums, apricots , prunes, apples, cranberries or blackberries and a batter, somewhat similar to pancake batter, in a baking dish.
Ingredients:
125 g flour , sifted
4 eggs , lightly beaten
2 tbsp caster sugar
pinch of salt
600 ml milk
1/2 c black cherries ( plums, prunes, apples, cranberries, apricots or blackberries )
sugar for dusting
Directions:
1. Pre heat the oven at 180 deg .
2. Add the eggs , sugar and salt to the flour and whisk .
3. Pour the milk until smooth .
4. Grease the ovenproof dish with butter and pour half of the batter .
5. Spoon the cherry or ( plums, prunes, apples, cranberries , apricots or blackberries ) and spread evenly .
6. Pour the remaining batter over the top .
7. Bake for 40 mins until golden .
8. Dust sugar on top and serve WARM .
