Cherry Almond Mousse Pie

This is on the menu every Christmas.
Ingredients:
1-pie shell baked and cooled
1 can eagle brand condensed milk
1 square unsweetened chocolate
1/2 tea almond extract
1 jar maraschino cherries, drained, patted dry and chopped; reserve 8
1 8 oz package cream cheese room temp.
1 cup cold water
3 oz package instant vanilla pie filling
1 cup whipping cream- whipped
1/2 cup toasted almond slivers or slices
Directions:
1. Over low heat combine 1/2 cup of condensed milk with chocolate until melted and thick; about 4-5 minutes. Stir in 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract. Pour in the bottom of cooked cooled pastry shell. Beat cream cheese until light and fluffy gradually add the water, remaining milk, pudding and remaining 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract. Mix until smooth; fold in whipped cream, cherries and nuts. Pour over chocolate in pastry shell and top with left over cherries. Chill at least 6 hours. ENJOY
