I haven't tried this, but am planning to ask for an ice-cream freezer next year and thought this looked like an easy first recipe. I didn't include a cooking time, sinc eI don't know how long it takes to make ice cream, but it certainly doesn't take long to assemble! Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
2 cups buttermilk |
1 teaspoon grated lemon, rind of |
1/4 cup lemon juice |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients until sugar is dissolved.
2. Pour into 1-quart ice-cream freezer.
3. Freeze according to manufacturer's directions.
