Cheese Rings / Argolas De Queijo

Pan de queso
Ingredients:
1 2/3 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 tsp yeast
2 tbsp sugar
1 egg
1 oz butter
1/2 cup milk
2 3/4 oz dry cheese
Directions:
1. flour, salt, yeast and sugar in a bowl
2. add beaten egg, melted butter and milk
3. mix with spatula to moisten dry ingredients
4. knead until smooth and supple
5. bring together in a ball and return to bowl
6. cover bowl with plastic wrap or damp cloth
7. set aside in warm draft place until it doubles the size
8. punch down the dough and knead in the grated cheese
9. divide into 12 pieces
10. shape each piece into a rope of 20-25 cm long and shape into a ring with an overlap of 4-5 cm
11. place rings on greased surface spacing them apart
12. cover loosely with plastic wrap and leave in a warm place for 20 minutes
13. preheat the oven
14. bake for 8-12 minutes or until golden brown
15. cool in a wire rack
16. eat on the day of baking or freeze as soon as they are cool
