These are wonderfully crunchy little savory cookies that make a great appetizer. The person who shared the recipe with me used a sharp chedder from Canada - McLaren's Imperial.
Ingredients:
1/4 c butter - melted
1 c strong cheese, grated ( a spreadable brand works better)
1 c sifted flour
1/2 t salt
1/4 t cayenne - optional
2 c rice krispies
Directions:
1. Preheat over to 400.
2. Mix butter, cheese, flour, salt and cayenne well. Add rice krispies. Drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet and bake for 10 min.
3. This is much easier to do using spreadable cheese. I used grated chedder and it needed to be melted a number of times and I still struggled to get it to mix well. I ended up mixing it with my hands like meatloaf - be careful if you do this, the cheese is HOT.
