Make this cute but delcious little cheese ball for your next party. An all Recipes from Phyllis. I decorated in parsley ( no nuts due to a nut allergy of some quests,) used lemon wedges for the ears, olives for the eyes and spiral pasta for the nose/tail! Read more ! Of course served with crackers!
Ingredients:
2, 8 oz pkg cream cheese
1/2 cup butter
1 tbs instant cheddar cheese sauce mix from a box of macaroni and cheese
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 tbs minced green onion
1 tbs fresh lemon juice
1 tsp dried parsley
1/2 cup chopped walnuts ( i used some dried parsley instead )
Directions:
1. Have cream cheese and butter at room temperature.
2. Blend well.
3. Gradually stir in the dry cheese sauce mix, green onion, lemon juice, shredded cheddar and parsley.
4. Shape mixture into one large ball ( or two smaller ones )
5. Roll in chopped nuts ( or parsley )
6. Serve immediately
7. Note: for best serving, if chilled and made ahead of time, remove from refrigerator 1 hour ahead of time to soften up
8. Surround and serve with crackers
