Cheddar-cheese Poppy Seed Biscuits

These biscuits are a breeze to make! Delicious with meals or anytime!
Ingredients:
2-1/4 cups bisquick
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1/2 tsp cayenne or red pepper
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 cup plus 1 tbsp skim milk, divided
1 egg
poppy seeds
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400-degrees F.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine Bisquick, pepper, cayenne and cheddar cheese.
3. Stir in 1 cup milk.
4. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently until combined, about 10 turns.
5. Pat to 3/4-inch thickness.
6. Use a biscuit cutter or overturned glass to cut the dough into 12 rounds, reshaping the scraps as necessary.
7. Place the biscuits 1 inch apart on a nonstick or lightly greased baking sheet.
8. In a small bowl, beat together the egg and remaining 1 Tbsp milk.
9. Brush the tops of the biscuits with the egg wash and sprinkle generously with the poppy seeds.
10. Bake the biscuits until lightly browned, 15 to 18 minutes.
11. Serve warm or at room temperature.
